The Institute for Hygiene and Meat Technology celebrated its 69th anniversary. Director Vesna Đorđević, Ph.D., introduced the employees with the most important information about the Institute’s operations from the previous year and reminded them of the Institute’s long history and tradition in conducting food safety analysis and control, scientific and technical cooperation with the food industry and scientific projects. She also spoke about the contributions made by Dr. Branko Velebit, scientific advisor, head of the Department for Microbiological and Molecular Biological Testing, Dr. Vesna Janković, senior research associate and deputy head of the Department of Microbiological and Molecular biological testing and Dr. Brankica Lakićević scientific advisor, through the development and validation of microbiological methods, cooperation with the food industry, participation in projects and published works in scientific journals of the highest rank. The retrospect was enriched by the memories of those who were once our teachers and who laid the Institute on solid foundations, on which we can build success and be recognizable today.
