Lecture by Dr. Ivan Nastasijević in the workshops of the Know4Nano and MicroLabAptaSens projects

Ivan Nastasijević, Ph.D., Principal Research Fellow, Department for Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Institute for Hygiene and Meat Technology, participated in the workshops organized at the BioSens Institute, University of Novi Sad, November 25-29, 2024. within the “Know4Nano” (Horizon Europe Widera 2023 programme) and “MicroLabAptaSens” (Republic of Serbia Science Fund, IDEJE program) projects, as a lecturer. Dr. Nastasijević presented the key challenges in agri-food production chain according to the strategy of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as well as the European Union’s farm-to-fork strategy (F2F) and the context of the application of biosensors in the meat production chain in presentation with a title “Biosensors for simultaneous and multiplex detection of animal health, welfare and food safety biomarkers in the meat chain”. The results regarding development of microfluidic biosensors for the detection of selected biomarkers related to animal health and welfare and food safety in the farm-slaughterhouse continuum and the related patent, as a result of the joint work of researchers from the Institute for Meat Hygiene and Technology and the BioSens Institute have also been presented.
