“Meat Technology” is a scientific journal; since 1960, the results of basic and applied research in the field of biotechnical sciences, or following branches, are published: veterinary sciences, food engineering and biotechnology.

According to the opinion/decision of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Serbia (no. 413-00-00461/2000-01), this publication is of particular interest to science.
By the Decision of the Scientific Committee on Biotechnology and Agriculture of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Republic of Serbia, the journal was categorized in 2013 as the leading journal of national importance (M51).
Since 2016, vol. 57, no. 1 “Meat Technology” – to this issue of “Meat Technology”, the journal is published in English.
