DOCTORAL DISSERTATIONS IN THE PERIOD 1960–2025
- In 1961, Dr Sonja Đurđić-Karan defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Contribution to the Study of the Influence of Autolytic Processes and Defrosting Methods on the Quality and Shelf Life of Frozen Beef” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On March 4, 1961, Dr Žarko Trumić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Comminution on the Physicochemical Properties and Microstructure of Meat” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1962, Dr Biserka Matijašević-Oštrić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Antioxidative Components of Rosemary and the Possibilities of Their Application to Improve the Stability of Fats and Meat Products” at the Faculty of Technology and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Chemical Sciences.
- On September 29, 1962, Dr Velimir Oluški defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Autolytic Processes, Storage Conditions, and Defrosting Methods on the Quality and Shelf Life of Frozen Pork Livers and Kidneys” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On December 2, 1965, Dr Radoljub Tadić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Factors Affecting the Emulsification of Fat and Tallow in Meat Products” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On March 19, 1968, Dr Dragoljub Džoljić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Contribution to the Study of the Prevalence of Salmonella in Chickens (Broilers)” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1971, Dr Branko Mihajlović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Anatomical and Topographical Characteristics of the Shoulder Muscles and Synsarcosis Muscles of Industrial-Type Meat Pigs” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1971, Dr Mirko Nađ defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Anatomical and Topographical Characteristics of the Lumbo-Thoracic Part of the Spine Muscles of Industrial-Type Meat Pigs, with Special Reference to Certain Quality Properties of M. longissimus lumborum et thoracis” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On June 12, 1971, Dr Nikola Petrović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Contribution to the Study of Carriers of Aujeszky’s Disease in Pigs” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On June 13, 1972, Dr Milenko Šuvakov defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Detection of Salmonella in Clinically Healthy Pigs” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On September 27, 1973, Dr Ana Oluški defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Evaluation of Certain Methods for the Isolation and Identification of Pathogenic Staphylococci” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1974, Dr Miroslav Marinkov defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Dispersity and Stability of the Microstructure of Cooked Sausages Prepared with Added Pork and Beef Fat Tissues” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1974, Dr Živka Tadić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Technological Potential and the Role of Microflora in the Process of Dry Curing of Pork Cuts” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1976, Dr Petar Modić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Prevalence of Trichinellosis in the Republic of Serbia, the Value of Certain Diagnostic Procedures, and the Survival of T. spiralis Larvae in Pork” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1976, Dr Vera Višacki defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Contribution to the Study of Contamination of Certain Meat Tissues and Meat Products with Residues of Chlorinated Hydrocarbon Pesticides” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On June 27, 1977, Dr Veselinka Đorđević defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Phospholipids in Pork” at the Biotechnical Faculty and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Food Technology.
- On June 5, 1978, Dr Vidak Aničić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Anatomical and Topographical Characteristics and Certain Quality Properties of Pork Neck Muscles Intended for Industrial Processing” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1983, Dr Petar Radetić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Major Smoke Components and Selected Smoking Regimes on the Water-Binding Capacity of Meat” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1985, Dr Ivana Đujić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Relationships Between Stable and Radioactive Chemical Elements in Beef” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On April 18, 1986, Dr Ljubica Bastić-Golubović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Composition and Thermal Behavior of Intramuscular Lipids of M. semimembranosus in Pigs” at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
- In 1987, Dr Milica Polić (Đorđe) defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Research Aimed at Optimizing the Processing Procedures of Waste Brewer’s Yeast” at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
- On January 18, 1989, Dr Aurelija Spirić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Degradation of Lindane and DDT Under the Influence of Certain Microorganism Strains Isolated from Fermented Meat Products” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On April 9, 1990, Dr Milovan Đorđević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Prevalence of Trichinellosis in Pigs in Certain Enzootic Areas of the Republic of Serbia and Comparison of the Reliability of Selected Direct Diagnostic Methods” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On April 20, 1990, Dr Milutin Perović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Prevalence of Sarcocystosis in Slaughter Pigs in the Republic of Serbia and the Possibility of Diagnosing and Survival of Sarcocysts in Pork” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On November 26, 1990, Dr Lazar Turubatović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Optimization of the Thermal Processing of Brewer’s Yeast” at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
- In 1991, Dr Dragutin Dimitrijević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Detection of Residues of Quaternary Ammonium Compounds in Meat” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1991, Dr Trajče Kočovski defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Properties of Exudate from Simultaneously Cured and Massaged Pre- and Post-Rigor Pork” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1993, Dr Jovan Panin defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Study of the Presence and Hygienic Significance of Aeromonas hydrophila in Certain Organs, Meat, and Meat Products” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1993, Dr Ilija Tadić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Boar Taint on the Hygienic Safety and Quality of Meat from Young Boars” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1993, Dr Gordana Vojinović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Study of Factors Influencing the Survival and Pathogenicity of Listeria monocytogenes in Meat and Meat Products” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- In 1994, Dr Snežana Saičić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Structural Changes of Lipids and Proteins During the Production and Ripening of Zlatibor Bacon” at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
- In 1994, Dr Olivera Lozanče defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Progesterone on Neurons of the Amygdaloid Complex in Male and Female Rats Treated in the Neonatal and Late Juvenile Period” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On June 10, 1994, Dr Vesna Matekalo-Sverak defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Optimization of Production Conditions for Food Proteins Derived from Animal Blood” at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
- In 1998, Dr Tadija Stamenković defended his thesis entitled “The Influence of Composition, Production Procedures, and Microstructure on the Sterilization Process of Liver Pâté” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences.
- On June 15, 2006, Dr Aleksandra Stjepanović defended her doctoral dissertation.
- On January 24, 2007, Dr Slavica Vesković-Moračanin defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Lactobacillus sakei I 151, the Bacteriocin of Leuconostoc mesenteroides E 131, and MAP on the Shelf Life of Sremska Sausage” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Biotechnical Sciences – field of Food Technology.
- On July 12, 2007, Dr Slobodan Lilić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Influence of Broiler Infection with the Protozoan Eimeria tenella on Production Results and Selected Meat Quality Parameters” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On May 30, 2008, Dr Dragan Milićević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Presence of Ochratoxin A in Feed and Residues in Blood Plasma, Liver, and Kidneys of Slaughtered Pigs” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences.
- On October 4, 2008, Dr Jasna Đinović-Stojanović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Hemodynamics of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Smoked Meat Products” at the Faculty of Chemistry and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Chemical Sciences.
- On November 18, 2008, Dr Ivan Nastasijević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Risk Assessment and Control Options for Escherichia coli O157:H7 in the Beef Supply Chain” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On June 9, 2009, Dr Vesna Đorđević defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Factors Relevant to the Detection of Fluoroquinolones in Fish Tissues” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On July 13, 2010, Dr Branko Velebit defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of Gene Expression for Cytotoxin of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in Foods of Animal Origin” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On March 14, 2011, Dr Danijela Šarčević defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Research into the Significance of the Corporate Social Responsibility Concept in Scientific Research Institutions” at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Sciences – Organizational Sciences.
- On July 19, 2011, Dr Milan Milijašević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Comparative Investigation of Selected Quality Parameters During Storage of Fresh Trout Packed in Vacuum and Modified Atmosphere” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On May 10, 2012, Dr Danijela Vranić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Diet on the Quality of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Meat” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On June 5, 2012, Dr Branka Borović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Molecular and Technological Characterization of Lactic Acid Bacteria Isolated from Traditionally Produced Dry Fermented Sausages” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Biotechnical Sciences – field of Food Technology.
- On June 8, 2012, Dr Nenad Parunović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Genetic and Environmental Factors on the Variability of Production and Reproductive Traits in Mangalitsa Pigs” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Biotechnical Sciences – field of Animal Science.
- On September 17, 2012, Dr Brankica Lakićević defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Application of Classical, Molecular Biological, and Immunoenzymatic Methods in the Isolation, Detection, and Characterization of Bacteria of the Genus Listeria” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On October 14, 2013, Dr Zoran Petrović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Assessment of the Biomonitoring Potential of the European Hare (Lepus europaeus) Based on the Accumulation of Heavy Metals in Tissues” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On October 29, 2013, Dr Vesna Janković defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Changes in Health Safety Parameters of ‘Petrovačka’ Sausage During Production Under Traditional and Controlled Conditions” at the Faculty of Technology and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Sciences – Technological Engineering.
- On November 29, 2013, Dr Jelena Babić Milijašević defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Comparative Investigation of Selected Quality Parameters During Storage of Carp (Cyprinus carpio) Steaks Packed in Vacuum and Modified Atmosphere” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On March 6, 2014, Dr Radivoj Petronijević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Possibility of Applying New Methods for the Control of Natural and Artificial Colorants in Meat Products” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences.
- On April 28, 2014, Dr Tatjana Baltić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Effect of Marination on the Growth of Salmonella Species in Broiler Meat” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On June 5, 2014, Dr Dejana Trbović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Diet on Lipid Content and Fatty Acid Composition in Carp (Cyprinus carpio L., 1758) Meat in a Semi-Intensive Farming System” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Biotechnical Sciences – field of Animal Science.
- On July 10, 2014, Dr Jelena Ćirić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Effect of Different Packaging Methods on the Growth of Yersinia enterocolitica in Pork” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On July 17, 2014, Dr Mladen Rašeta defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Frequency of Salmonella spp. findings on Broiler Carcasses and Their Significance for Food Safety” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On July 18, 2014, Dr Srđan Stefanović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Comparative Investigation of the Presence of Aflatoxin B1 in Animal Feed and Aflatoxin M1 in Milk” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On July 14, 2015, Dr Saša Janković defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Risk Assessment of Exposure to Organohalogen Contaminants and Heavy Metals Through Food” at the Faculty of Pharmacy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Pharmacy.
- On December 22, 2015, Dr Ivana Branković Lazić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Conjugated Linoleic Acid Supplementation in Diet on Production Results and Meat Quality of Broilers” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On June 13, 2016, Dr Mirjana Lukić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Comparative Analysis of Carcass Meatiness and Selected Meat Quality Parameters of Fattened Young Cattle” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On July 11, 2016, Dr Radmila Mitrović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Possibility of Inactivation of Yersinia enterocolitica in Fermented Sausages” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On September 27, 2018, Dr Dragica Nikolić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Mineral Composition of Muscle, Liver, and Kidneys of Intensively and Extensively Raised Pigs in Serbia” at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Sciences – Chemical Sciences.
- On October 30, 2019, Dr Branislav Baltić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of the Effect of Medium-Chain Fatty Acid Supplementation on Health Status, Production Results, and Meat Quality of Broilers” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On November 3, 2020, Dr Aleksandra Nikolić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Polyphenols on the Quality, Safety, and Shelf Life of Fermented Sausages” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On December 29, 2020, Dr Jelena Jovanović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Frequency of Campylobacter spp. Findings on Poultry Carcasses and Their Sensitivity to Antimicrobial Drugs” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On September 3, 2021, Dr Lazar Milojević defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Identification and Phylogenetic Analysis of Hepatitis E Virus in Pigs at Slaughterhouses in Serbia” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On July 3, 2023, Dr Stefan Simunović defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Optimization of the Production Process of Traditional Fermented Sausages Using Modern Sensory Analysis Methods” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Sciences – Biotechnical Sciences.
- On July 14, 2023, Dr Nikola Betić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Influence of Infection with the Parasite Toxoplasma gondii on the Safety of Pork in Serbia” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On July 19, 2023, Dr Danka Spirić defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Investigation of Micro- and Macroelement Content in Samples of Bees and Their Products” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On September 6, 2023, Dr Aleksandar Bajčić defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Use of Inulin and Collagen Suspension as a Substitute for Solid Fat Tissue in the Production of Finely Comminuted Cooked Sausages” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Medical Sciences – Veterinary Medicine.
- On March 6, 2025, Dr Sara Simunović defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Analysis of Intrinsic and Extrinsic Quality Characteristics of Pork and Beef” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Sciences – Technological Engineering.
- On February 13, 2026, Dr Čaba Silađi defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Micro- and Macroalgae Supplementation on the Quality and Functional-Technological Properties of Semi-Processed and Meat Products” at the Faculty of Agriculture and obtained the academic title of Doctor of Sciences – Biotechnical Sciences.
