Researchers and associates of the Institute have also advanced their professional expertise through specialist studies in various scientific and professional fields related to food safety, veterinary medicine, microbiology, chemistry, and quality management.
1967
Milan Ristić passed the specialist examination in Technology of Foods of Animal Origin at the Republican Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry on April 20, 1967.
Ana Oluški passed the specialist examination in Microbiology at the Republican Secretariat for Agriculture and Forestry on February 23, 1967.
Bogdan Maksimović completed the specialist examination for Veterinary Surgeon at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade.
1978
Olga Lješević passed the specialist examination at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on June 23, 1978, and obtained the title Specialist in Microbiology.
1989
Gordana Vojinović defended a specialist thesis at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on February 16, 1989, obtaining the title Specialist Microbiologist.

Slavica Vesković Moračanin defended the specialist thesis “Investigation of the Hygienic Safety of Packaging Used for Milk Packaging” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on December 23, 1993, obtaining the professional title Specialist in Hygiene and Technology of Foodstuffs.

Branka Borović defended the specialist thesis “Presence of Pathogenic Bacteria in Mechanically Separated Poultry Meat” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on May 27, 1998, obtaining the title Specialist in Microbiology.
Danijela Vranić passed the specialist examination in Sanitary Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade, on May 28, 1998, obtaining the title Specialist in Sanitary Chemistry.

Vesna Janković defended the specialist thesis “Determination of Mycotoxins in Spices Using the ELISA Test” at the Faculty of Technology, University of Novi Sad, on October 6, 2003, obtaining the title Specialist in Food Microbiology.

Radmila Mitrović defended the specialist thesis “Occurrence of Bacillus Species in Food” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on July 1, 2004, obtaining the title Specialist in Microbiology of Foods of Animal Origin.
Dragan Milićević defended the specialist thesis “Occurrence of Ochratoxin A in Food and Residues in the Liver and Kidneys of Pigs” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on July 15, 2004, obtaining the title Specialist in Nutrition.

Tamara Gerić defended the specialist thesis “Comparative Analysis of the Legislative Regulations of the European Union and the Republic of Serbia in the Field of Zoonoses” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on December 30, 2005, obtaining the title Specialist in Epizootiology of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.

Zoran Petrović defended the specialist thesis “Quality Assurance Models in Food Production and Distribution” at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade, on October 8, 2008, obtaining the title Specialist in Quality Management.

Vesna Đorđević defended the specialist thesis “Biochemical Characteristics of the Genera Aeromonas and Pseudomonas Isolated from Trout” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on June 29, 2009, obtaining the title Specialist in Microbiology.

Danka Spirić completed specialist academic studies in Biology of Microorganisms at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, on June 29, 2012, obtaining the title Specialist Biologist.
2017–2018
Mladen Rašeta completed specialist academic studies in Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on September 22, 2017, obtaining the academic title Specialist Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
On September 21, 2018, he passed the specialist examination in the subspecialization Hygiene and Technology of Foods of Animal Origin at the same faculty, obtaining the title Specialist in the Subspecialty of Hygiene and Technology of Foods of Animal Origin.

Aleksandra Nikolić passed the specialist examination in the subspecialization Hygiene and Technology of Foods of Animal Origin at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, on July 12, 2019, obtaining the title Specialist in the Subspecialty of Hygiene and Technology of Foods of Animal Origin.
